Xu Weilin, academician of China Academy of Engineering and president of wuhan textile University, introduced in detail the background of the establishment of a comprehensive technological innovation platform for advanced fiber materials in Hubei Province. He hopes that the platform can share innovative resources and complement each other's advantages by strengthening the docking cooperation between universities and industries, promote the deep integration of politics and Industry-University-Research, and help the fiber material industry achieve higher quality development. He also hopes to form more practical and feasible implementation paths and cooperation mechanisms around technological innovation and industrialization in the field of fiber materials.

Shu Guichuan, deputy secretary of the Jiangxia District Committee of Wuhan City, Hubei Province, introduced that in recent years, Jiangxia District has adhered to the new development concept to lead high-quality development, and was awarded the honorary titles of "National Top 100 District", "National Top 100 Investment Competitiveness District" and "National Top 100 Innovation District", which has become one of the fast-growing and powerful urban areas in Wuhan. At present, the new material industry represented by advanced functional fibers is a key field of important development. In this field, Jiangxia has a good advantage in scientific and educational resources and a foundation for industrial development. It will actively build a comprehensive technological innovation platform for advanced fiber materials in Hubei Province with wuhan textile University, and lay out industrial chains such as high-performance composite materials, functional materials and new energy battery materials.

Sun Jinliang, an academician of China Academy of Engineering and a professor at Shanghai University, said in a video speech that fiber materials, as an important part of modern science and technology, play an irreplaceable role in national defense, aerospace, transportation, environmental protection, health and other fields. In recent years, a number of international advanced scientific and technological achievements have emerged in China's textile fiber industry, but there is still a lot of work to be done in the transformation of scientific research achievements in the textile fiber industry, which has greater potential to be tapped and requires more efforts from everyone. As a new R&D institution with flexible system and mechanism, the comprehensive technological innovation platform of advanced fiber materials in Hubei Province will help scientific and technological achievements move from laboratory to market.

Li Lingshen, vice president of China Textile Industry Federation (hereinafter referred to as "China Textile Federation"), said that the comprehensive technological innovation platform for advanced fiber materials in Hubei Province has carried out a series of fruitful work since its construction, which has accelerated the process of scientific research achievements from laboratory to market and serving the society, and will provide strong support for enhancing the core competitiveness of fiber materials industry in Hubei and even the whole country.
